Ek Balam (the black jaguar or tiger’s star), is a beautiful archaeological site. Through a short sacbé (white road) leads to one of the few entrances that open on both walls that surround this ancient archaeological zone which in turn lead to a large square flanked by huge mountains, large platforms, and an impressive dome buildings and a ball game “Juego de Pelota”. The main buildings and two seats are distributed. The Acropolis is the most impressive of all and one of the most voluminous of Mesoamerica. There are trails fragmented, still scattered and left to weather, which are distinguished by figures still sitting on thrones, bands of glyphs and a whole interesting paraphernalia that surrounds and gives meaning to the stony atmosphere of the ruins.
